R&B singer, Jewels, returns from outer space with a message for the human race
Dababy’s protege, Jewels, puts out new EP — Galaxy Baby
North Carolina R&B singer, Jewels, took a trip to the outer galaxy early this year. Seriously.
She returned with a message for the human race: essentially, it is be kinder to one another — we need more empathy and compassion, people.
Musically, her latest 6-song EP, Galaxy Baby, flips back and forth between the forefront and background seamlessly, like a chameleonic entertainer switching venues throughout the night.
One minute she’s in the back of a five-star hotel lobby, singing effortless, subtle, sweet nothings into your ear while you and your partner drink cocktails at the bar. Then, as fast as you lose track of time, the classy entertainer’s sequin dress vanishes – along with social niceties – and then miss attitude with an aptitude to spin the smoothest lines backed by hot dance and R&B beats emerges to greet some skeletons hiding in the darkest corners of your psyche. And then you’ve got dancing skeletons on your hands — you can do whatever you want with that image.
